Meeting was Called to Order: 6:35 pm, quorum was confirmed

 

Welcome

 

Elections – In an effort to better use the strengths of our board members, we have rearranged the positions from the slate originally presented in the spring.

 

Unanimous Vote to Approve our 2020-2021 Executive Board:

•  Kari Hall (President)
• Sara Smith (VP)
• Jen Macomber (Secretary)
• Jody Vranek (Treasurer)
• Jen Caruso and Kelly Rende (PTACHC reps)

Budget Review/Vote – Our budget has a few changes from last year due to the virtual aspect of the school year. We raised the budget for Staff Appreciation since we can’t take donations this year and any events must be completely catered. All line items for in-person events, along with in-school activities, such as Beaver Cart, are cut at this time. We can vote to adjust the budget in the event that things change next semester.

• Unanimous vote for approval of the 2020-2021 budget

 

Staff Appreciation Recap –

• In lieu of the Welcome back breakfast, the PTA offered the staff lunches to pick up at Pepperjacks on 8/31, 59 staff members participated.

• 3 Board members and their students participated in “Chalking the walk”, decorating the sidewalk in front of BBES messages to welcome staff members back to school when they came to pick up materials on 9/9.

 

Spiritwear Sale coming up – info will go out in the school newsletter and on the PTA Facebook page. We will be selling T-shirts (blue and tie dye), long sleeve shirts, and sweatshirts with the BBES Strong logo. Question was asked about BBES masks… will ask the Spiritwear company if this is an option.

 

Membership (form/online) – Sign up at bbespta.com. $10 for one person, $5 for additional members. You do not have to be a member to attend PTA meetings but you do you vote.

 

Administration Remarks (Rhonda Inskeep) – Admin thanks all parents and adults for their support during virtual learning and the PTA for the staff appreciation activities so far. The related arts schedule is still confusing for many but students use the same code each class. They will have either an asynchronous task or a synchronous class for each related arts class. Back to School nights are next week and are very important! Please attend!! Lots of info to share!
