Hi everyone! My name is Kari Hall and I will be serving as your PTA President for the 2020-21 school year. This year will be my 6th year at Bollman Bridge as my son Tommy is in 4th grade. I spend my days providing IT support for corporate lawyers. Our family enjoys motorcycle riding, kayaking, exploring and then taking it easy on Sundays. I’m so excited to be a part of such an amazing group and I look forward to working with you all
I am so excited to join the PTA board this year! I have lived in Howard County since I was a small child. I went to Oakland Mills High School, and then Towson University to earn a degree in Early Childhood Education. I taught Pre-K and Kindergarten at Running Brook Elementary School for 9 years before deciding to take leave to stay home with my children. My husband Douglas and I have three girls, Pearl 7, Hazel 5, and Dottie 2. I’m very busy with the kids, but in my spare time I enjoy puzzles, reading, music, and walking.
Hi everyone! My name is Jen Macomber and I will be serving as the Secretary for the 2020-21 school year. This year will be my 8th year at BBES. I have a 2nd grader and a 4th grader at BBES, along with a 7th grader at PVMS. I have spent a lot of time volunteering at BBES with Beaver Cart, Coffee Cart, planning events, working on the yearbook, and helping out in my kids’ classrooms. I am also a Cub Scout leader for my younger two boys. My background is in education, as a 1st grade teacher and a reading intervention teacher in AA and PG counties, and now a substitute teacher in this county. I like to spend time outdoors and travel to new places with my family. I look forward to working with everyone this upcoming school year.
My wife Kathy and I moved to Columbia from Fells Point in 2009. We have three children. Evan is in the 4th grade, Emily is in 2nd grade, and Elliott will start at BBES in 2021. I am a stay at home parent. I work as a handyman, Lyft driver and volunteer coach when I can. My previous career was in the US Air Force and I am an Iraq War Veteran.
Jen has one son in 5th grade at BBES. She and her family have been active participants at PTA and school activities for the past 6 years. Jen has also coordinated PTA-sponsored after school activities for the last 4 years.
