Great job to all the volunteers who helped out!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Administrator\u2019s Updates,<\/strong> Inskeep and Ms. Harmon:\n<ul>\n<li>Staffing updates: we were just awarded an extra teaching position for 4<sup>th<\/sup> Since the school had already used Title 1 funds to hire a 4<sup>th<\/sup> grade teacher, that money will likely be used for an additional interventionist.<\/li>\n<li>Due to lower kindergarten enrollment: only 4 kindergarten classes this year.<\/li>\n<li>Recess: Feedback from teachers\/staff\/students indicated they wanted to go back to traditional recess with free play rather than assigned groups\/areas. So far, so good.<\/li>\n<li>Boosterthon is up and running. Ten percent of students are already registered and we are at 4% of our goal in first 24 hours. In case of rain, run will move inside to gym.<\/li>\n<li>Back to school nights start at 6:30 in cafeteria for 20 minute presentation. Then parents visit homerooms and briefly to math teacher. If possible, leave kids at home.<\/li>\n<li>Martirano will visit on September 19<sup>th<\/sup> at 9AM.<\/li>\n<li>Five staff members will be attending 5 day cultural proficiency training.<\/li>\n<li>Two staff members received grants: Rachel Kaufman (reading specialist) is studying anti-bias framework in K-2 reading materials. G\/T teachers Ms. Icenogle and Ms. Freiert received grant to work with kindergarteners and 1<sup>st<\/sup> graders to provide enrichment activities and talent-spotting through co-teaching and professional learning. One of only three schools selected for this pilot program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>PTACH Report<\/strong>: Tammy Fenwick and Betsy Kuhns, PTACHC reps<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Board of Ed members were at first county-wide meeting to answer questions.<\/li>\n<li>County is working on list of approved vendors for cultural events<\/li>\n<li>Redistricting plan comes out 10\/3 and then another plan after two additional meetings soliciting public feedback. If you have comments, please submit testimony.<\/li>\n<li>Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance also subject of discussion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong>Provisional Budget:<\/strong> Treasurer, Lakesha Ott<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Reported on situation from July 2017 when she took over<\/li>\n<li>We have $1056 to begin the year after paying several large overdue bills.<\/li>\n<li>Provisional budget is based on earning over $17,000 from Fun Run plus hoping to have a few thousand extra to carryover to next year.<\/li>\n<li>Silent auction in December will help to supplement.<\/li>\n<li>Social things will be the first to go if we have to cut funds: Movie nights, PBIS, Wellness<\/li>\n<li>Please use Smileamazon.com when making purchases and select BBES PTA as the recipient to help us raise funds. Member: You can earn a higher percentage with a link from your website. (We will look into this).<\/li>\n<li>Harris Teeter, link loyalty card at beginning of school year so they will donate to us.<\/li>\n<li>Seventeen spirit nights planned, usually about $100 per in proceeds. Kate Cole has offered to pick up lunch for teachers on spirit days when we receive lunchtime benefits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong>WATCH D.O.G.S.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>any male relative\/family friend welcome to participate<\/li>\n<li>Must complete HoCo volunteer training first.<\/li>\n<li>Kate Cole moved to vote to bring them under PTA. Unanimous vote in favor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong>Boosterthon<\/strong> \u2013 Kate Cole,\u00a0\u00a0 kcbeautifulirish@gmail.com<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Kate Cole plans to get a police noise permit due to neighbor complaints last year<\/li>\n<li>Volunteers needed for water and $$ counts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><strong>Online Auction<\/strong> &#8212; Margie Schairer<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>requests have been made from local major league teams, teacher dates, businesses<\/li>\n<li>If you have an auction item to donate or an idea, contact Margie<\/li>\n<li>Kari Newark volunteered to head effort and Tammy Fenwick will help as well<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><strong>After school activities<\/strong> &#8212; Jen Caruso<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>No free classes\/lottery this year<\/li>\n<li>Chess is on Tuesdays (correction) and KidzArt on Fridays<\/li>\n<li>Volunteers needed to assist with chess, no experience necessary<\/li>\n<li>There will also be Spanish offered through the school.<\/li>\n<li>Flier out in Wednesday folders<\/li>\n<li>No yoga or book club.
